The Tennessee Real Estate Educational Foundation (TREEF) is a nonprofit educational foundation originally established in 1968 by the Tennessee Association of Realtors®. The Foundation has had a significant impact on the quality of Realtor® education and training through:
- the development of such programs as the Instructor Training Institute (ITI)
- a continued focus on the Graduate Realtor® Institute (GRI) program quality and curriculum
- innovative and interactive approaches to distance-learning
- the creation of its newest instructor-training endeavor, “The Learning Centered Instructor” workshop
- partnerships with TAR to support professional standards workshops and training, especially its Leadership TAR program
Two individuals manage TREEF’s programs on a day-to-day basis: The TAR Director of Education & Communications (Pug Scoville) and the TAR Education Coordinator (Sally Cummings). The Foundation is governed by a 15-member, all-Realtor® Board of Trustees, elected for three-year staggered terms. Every TREEF Trustee is sincerely committed to the betterment of education for the real estate industry. It is in this spirit of educational service that TREEF sponsors the Center for Real Estate Education.
